Some Things I Can’t Blog About

You can't see what we're working on, usually
I like my job. Not every day, sure. But as a general rule. At least once every couple of weeks I am clicking away on some design, or something, and think "I better stop screwing around and get to work." And then I realize that I am doing work, and keep on happily clicking away.

This is, as a general rule, why it's easy to blog about design, usability and mobile stuff. Anything I see which I have an opinion on, or is apparently irrelevant but can be tied to design or mobile use, I just write up.

Except for the ones I can't write up. Very often, like right now, we are paid to look into cool future stuff. This means I walk around all day wanting to talk about how cool it is. I have to satisfy myself with typing and the whiteboard sessions in the office. We can't talk about it because we are under contract to give the information to the client, because just talking about it could reveal someone is working on this stuff, and often because you could surmise who our client is, all of which are bad.

So, when I don't post – or don't post very much, like now – usually I am not being lazy but really, really have something good to say. Just not to you.

This week I am also at the IXDA conference in Vancouver, BC. If you didn't know and want to meet up with anyone at Little Springs, just comment here (and we'll muddle through the whole privacy thing, but we do approve comments so there's a chance to edit out personal info if you want to trust us) or use the contact form.
