Industry Statistics
I have a “to-go folder”, containing stuff I need to support most points I make, stored on multiple devices. It includes different versions of my presentations, industry statistics, and other stuff. I always have the latest copy of Chetan Sharma’s US Wireless Data Market update. You should, too, and Chetan just updated the document. What’s happening? Well, the US wireless data market grew 40% in Q208, with increasing ARPU.

Upcoming Industry Events
I’ll be speaking at Ajit Joakar’s Mobile Web Megatrends is September 8, at the Pacific Film Archive Theater, at the University of California, Berkeley (my alma mater!). speakers.
Steven will be participating at Mobile Widget Barcamp Austin, hosted by Mobile Monday Austin. This one will be great fun, and it will be interesting to see what concepts from our Mobile Widgets White Paper get incorporated.
I’ll also be speaking at Mobile Web Strategies September 9 in San Francisco. This event is co-produced with CTIA and is a more traditional conference. speakers
All of this is two weeks before the premier North American mobile design conference (okay, the only one for now), Design For Mobile.
