Testing Services

Little Springs Design offers a variety of user experience measurement services, with their heart in usability testing: ask users to attempt something with your product, and see what they do and how they do it.

Usability Testing

Usability testing serves an array of strategic and product goals. Within the development process, small tests can help quickly make important design decisions and enable iterative design. After the product is complete, larger tests can provide an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of your and competing products.

A usability test has the largest benefit early in the development cycle. A test need not have a fully functional prototype, and early design concepts can be tested for user impact and success. While usability tests traditionally measure usability, Little Springs Design also looks at pleasure and enjoyment. This broader use of testing facilitates better product and even marketing decisions.

Mobile usability testing has challenges not found in desktop application or web site usability testing. We work with you to get the best information in the least amount of time, avoiding unnecessary expenses as well as several pitfalls. We can do all or part of usability testing: planning, recruiting, running, video capture, and analysis.

Multiple miniature cameras capture face and screen, mounted on custom fabricated “sleds”, using wired (better quality) or wireless (better mobility) methods to feed the video back to a capture system. Wide shot cameras capture the larger context in which the user interacts with the system. Real systems, real interactions, in context.

Market Acceptance Testing

This service increases the power of your beta or field test exponentially by delivering automated questionnaires to users when and where they use your application.
